snapshot of a Leicestershire village, as recorded on the Civil Defence
damage report map, stored at Beaumanor Hall, Leicestershire.
A.R.P. reports reveals that one night during October 1940, High
Explosive bombs fell near the village. The ARP / Civil Defence map
only shows one! Note the dusty pin hole near the canal, west of
Hose. It was recorded that around here (1 mile west of Hose) a Wellington
Bomber crashed at 1.10am on August 3rd 1943. There were no casualties.
Blue pins show areas which were hit by high explosive (H.E.) bombs.
